ID#: 4284 Description: This photograph shows the cataracts in a child’s eyes due to Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS). Rubella is a viral disease that can affect susceptible persons of any age. Although generally a mild rash, if contracted in early pregnancy, there can be a high rate of fetal wastage or birth defects, known as Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS).
