This file is in the public domain', because The United States Navy's National Historical Centre states that this is an official portrait of Yamamoto painted by Shugaku Homma, on 1943. . Article 6 of Japan's old copyright law (cited as an authority by Template:PD-Japan-oldphoto) states:
- "Article 6. Copyright in a work published or publicly performed under the name of a governmental or public agency, school, shrine or temple, association, company or any other organization as its author shall endure for thirty years from the time of such publication or public performance."
As an official portrait commissioned by the Imperial government of Japan, this portrait became public domain on 1973. |
