Entered British Army 1787. Fought in Falnders, India, Portugal, Spain and France before his famous victory at Waterloo. Thereafter in public life served as a cabinet minister and Prime Minister 1828-1830 as well as Foreign Minister and C-in-C of the Army. Buried in St Pauls Cathedral London. |
