Mausoleum of Halicarnassus

The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, depicted in this hand-coloured engraving by Martin Heemskerck, was built about 353 bc. The mausoleum was a huge marble tomb built for King Mausolus of Caria in Asia Minor.
