Summary
The Japanese Diet. / Das japanische Unterhaus.
Caption: President George W. Bush expresses his support for Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi during his address to Japan's legislature, The Diet, in Tokyo, Tuesday, Feb 19, 2002. "We were grateful, so very grateful, for the condolences and compassion of the Japanese people and the Japanese government," said the President during his address. "We were especially touched -- especially touched that the people of Ehime Prefecture sent a donation to the families of victims, showing empathy for loss, even when their own was so recent. This is a gesture of friendship my nation will never forget."
