Edinburgh-scottm.600px.jpg (600 × 450 pixel, file size: 77 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

A view of the Scottish capital Edinburgh, from the Scott Monument looking southeast. The expansive glass roof of Waverley Station fills the drained valley between Waverley and North bridges, and the city's medieval old town (resting on an alluvial ridge behind the crag of Edinburgh Castle) is visible on the right. In the distance white cranes continue to work on the controversial new building for the Scottish Parliament near Holyrood Palace, beyond which is the hill Arthur's Seat.
