Summary

Tennessee state monument on the Shiloh battlefield in Tennessee, unveiled June 3, 2005.

The black granite base has bronze plaques commemorating the participation of the Tennessee organizations engaged in the battle. The larger-than-life sculpture by Texas artist G. L. Sanders, Passing of Honour, depicts three Civil War soldiers. The monument was a cooperative venture with the state, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, the artist and numerous craftsmen.
