Dauphin Louis Charles of France, third child and second son of King Louis XVI of France and Queen Marie Antoinette of France, grandson of Empress Maria Theresia of Austria and Holy Roman Emperor Franz I Stephan of Lorraine, Musée de Versailles (M.V. 6520). Ludwig Karl XVII.; Teilweise wird auch angenommen, dass es sich bei der hier abgebildeten Person um den 1. Dauphin Ludwig Joseph Franz Xaver handelt; Der Bruder der Madame Royale stirbt (offiziell) am 8.6.1795 in der Gefangenschaft des Temple. Über eine mögliche Vertauschung und Flucht des echten Dauphins wird bis heute spekuliert. Ein DNA-Test aus dem Jahr 2000 scheint zu belegen, dass er tatsächlich im Temple gestorben ist. |
