Ash deposits from the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens were encountered throughout most of Washington, northeastern Oregon, northern Idaho, all of Montana, parts of Wyoming, North and South Dakota, northwestern Minnesota, Colorado, northern New Mexico, and as far away as central Oklahoma.
