Illuminated opening of the fourth book of the Kitab al-Qanun fi al-tibb (The Canon on Medicine) by Ibn Sina (Avicenna). Undated; probably Iran, beginning of 15th century. The illumination is typical of products from Timurid workshops of the 15th century.
