Question about authenticity: How can this colour picture be from 1915?
- This picture was taken by Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii, one of the early pioneers of colour photography.
Summary
Español: Hombre de la etnia Turkmeno con una reata de camellos
A Turkmen man posing with his dromedary camel. The photograph was taken by Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii between 1905 and 1915. The sacks in the background are thought to contain grain or cotton.

The image is from the Library of Congress, call number LC-P87- 151x[P&P], reproduction number LC-DIG-prokc-20131. The photo was taken on three colour-separated glass plates. The three separate plates are available from the link below. In principle it might be possible to improve this image by aligning the colors better. For example, the camel's nose is blurred. See and for discussions.
